Judy Ann Young
ROY – I was born May 30, 1951 in Miles City, Montana to Bonnie Ann Yancey. I was soon adopted by Fred and Marie Landphere Buckler and given the most warm, loving and caring home there could possibly be. We lived most of our lives in Roy where I was given many opportunities, always having the loving support of both parents. I passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009.
I met a terrific young man when I was 12, Douglas Dean Young, and five years later I married the love of my life on September 27, 1968. We were blessed with the birth of two very special, healthy and happy sons of whom we are so proud.
We attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and our sons attended St. Paul Lutheran School.
I am survived by my husband Doug, my son Lance and grandson Colby and his friend Tyler; my son Brandon and his wife Nichole, grandson Dylan and twin grandchildren Carson and McKenzie. They were my world.
Also surviving are my husband’s parents, Jimmy and Donna Young, and my husband’s sisters, Sandra Shaw and family, and Alan and Diana Chitwood and family.
I am also survived by many special and caring friends.
Preceding me in death were my parents.
I have been blessed by having the tender care and love from the many angels at Dr. Gray’s office (Utah Hematology and Oncology).
I fought a long, hard and courageous 13 year battle with cancer. I never quit fighting and always kept a positive attitude no matter how sick I was. The odds were always against me but I kept overcoming hurdle after hurdle. I continued enduring chemo with the hope of the results eventually benefiting other cancer patients.
My final thought is expressed by a quote from Erma Bombeck: “When I stand before God at the end of my life I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, “I used everything you gave me.”
