Julia Mary Funtanilla

LAYTON a€" Julia Mary Funtanilla, 91, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2010.

She was born February 19, 1919 in Cypermont, LA; the daughter of Manuel Ortiz and Maria Alejandra Ortiz.

She was raised and educated in Monterrey, Mexico.

Julia married Cecilio Galang Funtanilla on October 26, 1952 in Farmington, Utah. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1995.

She lived in Layton all her married life and was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Julia worked as a Pediatric TNA for 16 years at Lakeview Hospital.

Surviving are her children: Frank (Sandra) Funtanilla, Irene (Rick) Trujillo, Diana (Bill) Mueller, Cecil (Lori) Funtanilla, Sandy (Glenn) Bodle, 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many other "Sons and Daughters," who knew her as Mama Julia. She loved her children, especially her grandchildren.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 9 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, with Monsignor Victor Bonnell, officiating. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Prayer service at 7 p.m.
