Julia T. Guiterrez

TUCSON, ARIZONA – Julia T. Gutierrez, 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 21, 1927 in McFee, Colorado, the daughter of Celestino and Ursulita Chavez Trujillo. Julia married Gullermo Gutierrez on July 1, 1946 in Taos, New Mexico. Julia lived in Clearfield, Ogden, Layton and the last year in Tucson, Arizona. She was a homemaker and loved to plant and watch her flowers bloom. She enjoyed cooking and kept one of the cleanest homes in the neighborhood. Surviving are son, Charles (Loli) Gutierrez, Tucson, AZ; seven daughters, Patricia (Ace) Parker, Salt Lake City; Marie Floto, Tucson, AZ; Margaret (Larry) Stephens, Tucson, AZ; Roseabell (Dave) Devries, Layton; Sharon Gutierrez, Tucson, AZ; Karen (Barry) Abt, Brooklyn, NY; and Christine Gallegos, Ogden; 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Angie Pinon, Alamosa, CO; and Lorraine Cano, Alamosa, CO. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gullermo Gutierrez; sons, David Gutierrez, and LeRoy Gutierrez; daughter, Aladene Gutierrez; brothers, Rudy Trujillo, Junior Trujillo, Ernesto Trujillo; and sister, Vera Trujillo. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th St. Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. with prayer service at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden.
