Our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Julia E. Montoya was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on August 19th, 1939. She met Wilfred Montoya, who was immediately struck by her beautiful long dark hair, big brown eyes and sweet spirit. They were married July 17, 1955, and enjoyed fifty three years of marriage that was always filled with love, joy, and happiness.
Julia loved to travel and enjoyed her Mexican Cruise, trips to Washington D. C., New York City, and Las Vegas. She was a collector of antiquities and had an affinity for angels, and Santa Clauses, owning a collection of over a hundred statuettes.
Julia loved her family very much. Her greatest desire in life was to be a good wife, a loving mother, caring grandmother, and great grandmother devoting her entire life to serving her wonderful family. She loved the holidays, which she always made special with her thoughtful holiday decorating, and superb cooking. She had worked several years as a self employed child daycare provider always providing a loving home environment for many wonderful children.
