Julian Ritchie Green
ROY - Julian Ritchie Green passed away at his home on Saturday, July 9, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born January 19, 1931 in Ogden, Utah to Rollin and Arvilla Green. He grew up in Kanesville and graduated from Weber High School.
He was a member of the LDS Roy 10th Ward. On October 3, 1950, Julian married Fay Wakefield in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Julian started his law enforcement career with the Weber County Sheriff’s Department in May of 1954. He then went to the city of Roy, where he worked three years as a police officer. He was appointed Chief of Police at the age of 26, becoming the youngest man in the state’s history to be appointed to that position. He retired from the city of Roy in 1987 after 33 years of law enforcement service.
After retirement, he enjoyed time going on road trips with his wife, golfing with his son and spending time with his family.
He had a love for horses that started at a very young age. He bred and raised quarter horses and produced two AAA American Quarter Horse Association champions.
Julian is survived by his wife, Fay, their children, Max and Debbie Green, Ann and Paul Buys, Marie and Gary Tolman, Julie and Dale Allen, Emily Green, and Charlotte and Jeff Woody, 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one brother, Harry L. Green.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dallas R. Green.
Honoring his wishes a Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Roy City Cemetery.
