1973 ~ 2021

Julie Hammer, was born on June 26, 1973, The beloved daughter of Clyde R. Hammer and Mary Lou Simpson Hammer. Julie earned her angel wings on June 5, 2021, just shy of her 48th birthday. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend. She made a courageous fight, but described her own end as being “murdered by cancer.” Julie grew up in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School. She was the first in the family to call St. George, Utah home, where she attended Dixie State University. After college, she moved to Salt Lake County, and eventually Davis County.

Julie worked hard for everything she had and walked the Earth with her head held high. She married, had three boys, and raised them on her own from their tender years. These boys were the most important thing in her life, and she sacrificed much to provide for their needs. They adore her, as she did them, and they were always a close family who could depend on each other.

Julie loved to laugh, joke and tease; her children say she was snarky – but she knew exactly what to say to bring a smile and she made friends easily wherever she went. She was never overwhelmed by any project (a trait passed to her from her parents), and used her pink tool set to fix anything and everything. She was the queen of DIY and loved to help others. Her heart was as big as the outdoors and she shared her talents wherever she could.

She loved the musical Wicked and adored a specific line from it: Because I knew you, I have been changed for good. She had this positive attitude throughout her life and it allowed her to continue where others might have given up. She never quit.

Julie will be missed by so many, but especially her boys, Alan Ross (Alexa), Bryce Richard, and Matthew James; her parents, Clyde R and Mary Lou Simpson Hammer; her brother, Paul Clyde (Lisa); and her nephews, Austin Jacob (Tiffany) and Parker Clyde.

Friends may visit with family on Friday, June 11, 2021, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. Graveside services for family will be held at a later date at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd. in Ogden.
