Julie Ann Griffin Huss passed away on February 20, 2024, doing something she loved with her sister Tracy at her side.
Julie was born on September 19, 1964, the daughter of Christy Ann Shaw and Michael Byron Griffin in Ogden, Utah. She was proud to grow up in North Ogden and had deep roots and family history in the area. She loved horseback riding in her youth and enjoyed spending time on the family land, affectionately called ‘the canyon’.
Julie moved to Plain City, where she raised her family for over 25 years and was very involved with the PTA and Plain City Elementary. As she raised her children, Julie could often be found cheering them on at their sporting events as they were growing up.
Julie worked at St. Benedict’s Hospital for many years and later worked as the Continuing Education Secretary at Weber State University for over 25 years. She was a dedicated and effective worker.
She had a special passion for books, shopping, and going out to lunch or a movie with family. She and her sister Tracy saw almost anything in theaters they thought could be interesting. She shared her love of books with her grandchildren and would often bring them books to read.
One of Julie's proudest accomplishments was triumphing over Breast Cancer, showcasing her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit in the face of adversity. She inspired many with the stories she shared.
Julie is survived by her mother, Christy Griffin; her children, Hayden (CiCi) Huss, Sydnie Huss and Kolby Huss; two grandchildren, Emma and Hunter; her siblings, Tracy Cevering, Kelly (Richard) Rallison, and Monty (Shiela) Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Michael.
