Julie Karren

Julie Ann Mugleston Karren, 38, passed away while surrounded by her family on the evening of October 24, 2016 in Kaysville, Utah.  Julie had valiantly battled cancer for almost four years and one can only think that she will continue to be ever-present in our lives, an angel, walking side-by-side with her family.  She was the wife of Nathan Elwin Karren, married in the LDS Timpanogos Temple, and they shared over 16 years together.

Born in Tacoma, WA, Julie was the daughter of David Louis Mugleston and Carol Streadbeck Mugleston. She attended Ricks College and received her Associate’s in Sports Medicine.

Julie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in the Church and serving all those she knew.  She also loved quilting, gardening, swimming, and being outdoors.  Most of all, Julie loved being a mother to her five beautiful daughters and spending time with her family.

All who knew Julie loved her and her ability to genuinely be cheerful and optimistic.  She always radiated joy and will be remembered for her witty humor, strength, and love of her beautiful family.

Julie is survived by her husband, Nathan Elwin Karren, and five daughters Annalea, Isabelle, Maureen, Natalee, and Addilyn; her parents, David Louis Mugleston and Carol Streadbeck Mugleston and her brothers, Thomas (Melissa), Spencer (Roma), Lane (Chrissy), Mark, Brian (Meaghan), and Paul (Carly).

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Kaysville Crestwood Stake Center, 855 E. Mutton Hollow Road, Kaysville.  Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

The family wishes a special thanks to Dr. Carl R. Gray and nurses at Utah Hematology Oncology, Dr. Brandon J. Fisher and staff at Gamma West Cancer Services, as well as her home care nurses, Mandi (Envision Home Health) and Jocelyn (Community Nursing Services).  We also thank all the family, friends, and neighbors who have reached out and helped our family through this challenging time.
