Julie Lynn Robison Short
Julie Lynn Robison Short—beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother—passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 82 on April 17, 2024.
Julie was born May 21, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Franklin Dale and Clyda Isabelle McRae Robison. She graduated in 1959 with the first Senior Class of Highland High School and moved with her family from Sugarhouse to Holladay where she met the love of her life, Robert Stanley (Stan) Short. They were married on April 9, 1964, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Julie dedicated her life to Stan and her family. She worked at Utah Power & Light Company until their first child, Tamara (Tammy), was born in 1967. Their son, Eric Robert, arrived in 1970. They were her pride and joy. Nothing was more important to her. Julie and Stan loved to travel and went on many trips. She always supported Stan in waterskiing activities. They spent their winters in California. She enjoyed everything they did together over sixty years of marriage, from summer vacations at Bear Lake to tennis and the bowling league.
Julie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully as a Primary Pianist. She had a warm heart, quiet strength, a wonderful laugh, and a soft spot for all of God’s creatures. She helped care for her mom and dad and other family members for many years, with love and compassion.
Julie is survived by her husband Stan, Sandy, Utah, daughter Tammy (Jason) Westbrook, Lehi; and son Eric, Sandy; two sisters Joan (Tom) Lomax, Cottonwood Heights; and Nancy (the late Curt) Hodding, Huntington Beach, California, brother Dan (Paula) Robison, Salt Lake City, four granddaughters; Baylei, Samantha, Alicia, and Adilynn; and one great-granddaughter Zoei, along with multiple nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents.
