June White Hammon
WEST POINT – June White Hammon, 93, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Legacy Village of Layton.
She was born June 4, 1921 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Cyrus William and Miriam Irene Davis White.
June married Howard B. Hammon on February 8, 1947 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 28, 1956.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings, Primary, Relief Society and Extraction.
She was the ultimate mother, and did everything for her 10 children. Her life was a life of unselfish service. She had a great sense of humor and was gracious and humble.
Surviving are her sons and daughters, Lynn (Linda), Leota (Bob) Perkins, Linda (Dennis) Day, Susan (Merle) Sully, Pat (Lou) Micallef, Earl (Janice), Rod, Joe (Connie), Dr. Doug (Kate), son-in-law, Gregg Thackeray, 33 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Howard, infant son Gerald, daughter Kathleen Thackeray, daughter-in-law Nola, son-in-law Von Stott, parents, brother Carl White and sister Nona Aylor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the West Point 12 th Ward, 2852 W. 300 N., West Point. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, West Point City Cemetery.
