June Colemere Hickman, age 92, passed away on July 24, 2024 in Bountiful, Utah. Born on February 18, 1932 in West Kaysville, Utah, she was a cherished figure in her community and a beacon of love and support to her family.
June's early years were marked by her graduation from Davis High School, where she was actively involved in theater and Pep Club. After she finished school, she began working at Sears as a cashier which led to an eventful meeting with her future husband, Lane Hickman. Married in 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, June and Lane settled in Bountiful where they spent over 60 years building a life together and raising their family.
As a devout and life-long member of the LDS Church, June dedicated many years serving as a Primary Worker and Relief Society leader. Her commitment to her faith and community was evident through her compassionate service and the love she poured into every role.
June was a talented seamstress, often making clothes for her children and teaching her daughters valuable skills through 4-H. Her love for travel saw her exploring various parts of the United States with her family creating lasting memories. June's hobbies extended beyond sewing to include cooking, quilting, and a profound joy in nurturing the lives of her family.
June is preceded in death by her spouse, Lane W. Hickman; by her parents, Earl and Alvina Moss Colemere; by her siblings: Dale Sr. (Irene), Floyd (Patricia), Lloyd (Jeraldine), Marjorie (Leo Fricks), Marie (Lloyd Paget), Elaine (deceased as child), and Wayne (Barbara); and by her daughter, Susan H. Hittle. June is survived by her children: Marsha Latham, Jeff (Lorna), and Mark (Douglas Ernst); 8 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects at viewings scheduled for Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and Friday, August 2nd from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Val Verda 4th Ward Chapel, 2633 S. 50 W. Bountiful, Utah, with her funeral services to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will then follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery. A family luncheon will be hosted at the church post-service to celebrate June's life.
