June V. Shupe
NORTH OGDEN – June VanZweden Shupe, 92, passed away peacefully from this life surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, November 2, 2008 in Ogden, Utah.
June was born December 23, 1915 in Ely, Nevada, the fifth of eight children born to Carl and Rena VanZweden. June was raised in Ogden attending Lincoln Elementary, Mound Fort Middle School and Ogden High School.
On April 3, 1936, June married Wilbert Parley Shupe in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. To this marriage came five children: James,Dennis, Karlene,Margene(deceased infant), and Scott.They raised their family in Ogden, Utah, McGill, Nevada, and North Ogden, Utah. Wilbert preceded her in death on October 30, 1998.
June worked as an elevator operator in the Eccles Building in her early years and later as a cashier for the Ogden Livestock Company and Ogden Floral. She also worked for the Internal Revenue Service and Defense Depot Ogden.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints North Ogden East 13th Ward.
June’s interests were foremost her family. She loved traveling with her husband and supporting his interests. She also loved her home, working in her garden, and fishing.
Surviving are her children, James (Sandra, deceased) Shupe, Dennis (Diane) Shupe and Scott (Shauna) Shupe, all of North Ogden; Karlene (Norman) DeVries, Plain City; 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
Also surviving are three brothers, Robert VanZweden, Clearfield; Neil (Grace) VanZweden, Fruit Heights; and Lee (Portia) VanZweden, Pleasant View.
Preceding June in death were her husband, Wilbert, infant daughter, Margene, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden East 13th Ward Chapel, 950 East 2840 North with Bishop Donald Waite officiating.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
