LAYTON – Junior D. Green passed away at his home surrounded by his family on July 22, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. Junior was born Aug 25, 1923 to David O. and Martha Evans Green.
He married Martell Barnes in Layton on Aug 10, 1943. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
He attended Layton Elementary and graduated from Davis High School. He served in the 84th infantry of the US Army during World War II. He was an avid farmer, carpenter and employee of the town of East Layton City and then retired from Layton City in 1991. At the time of his death he was serving as President of the Kayscreek Irrigation Co.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, three children, Norma Lee (Bud) Cox, Suzanne Flinders, Bartley B. Green all of Layton; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law Kay Green. He was preceded in death by a great grandson (Tyler), his parents, four brothers Delmas, Woodrow, Chance, George, (five sisters) Mattie, Sarah, Leone, Norma (Peggy) and Geraldine.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 28th at the Layton East Stake Center, 1012 No Emerald Dr. Layton, Utah. Friends and family may call Friday at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Layton East Stake Center.
