Kaitlyn Dawn Kasper

August 28, 1989 — July 22, 2023

The light in the room has gone out with Kaitlyn Dawn Kasper leaving the Earth to go to the next world on July 22, 2023. She passed away at MacKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah, in the presence of her loving mother and father.

Kaitlyn was born in Great Falls, Montana on August 28, 1989. She is the daughter of Gregg Kasper and Judy (Weeks) Kasper. Kaitlyn attended Meadowlark Elementary in Great Falls before moving to South Ogden, where she attended H Guy Child Elementary, South Ogden Junior High School and Bonneville High School, where she graduated in 2007. Kaitlyn also attended Weber State University.

During her short life, she was employed by Hogi Yogi, Quiznos and the Ogden Country Club. She continued to work at the Ogden Country Club, advancing to the position of Banquet Manager. After leaving the Country Club, she worked for the Wayfair Call Center and the Medley Pharmacy Call Center. Prior to her passing, she was a registered behavioral technician with Autism Solutions. She loved working with autistic children, and the children loved her. Her goal was to obtain her collegiate degree so she could advance in this field.

Kaitlyn was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in South Ogden. She loved being with family, scrapbooking and decorating inside and outside the house. She loved reading, and spending time at the swimming pool in the summer developing a beautiful tan. Kaitlyn loved animals, especially cats. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She left the tree up throughout the year and decorated it based on the upcoming holidays and seasons.

She was a very kind and happy girl with a beautiful smile. When she walked into a room, the room lit up. She was loved by everyone who knew her, and she loved everyone. Kaitlyn loved the color pink, Marilyn Monroe and “The Little Mermaid.” Her family misses her so much. Each night, before bed, Kaitlyn and her mom shared a special saying. Her mom would say, “I love you bunches and bunches.” Kaitlyn would respond “Like Strawberries,” and her mom responded, “with sugar on top.”

She is survived by her parents, brothers Jon (Mackenzie) Kasper of South Weber and Josh (Jenn) of Billings, Montana. Kaitlyn was a great and loving aunt to her nieces, Kiley and Catherine and her nephews, Kaleb and JJ. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as her sister friends, Sara (Kreek) Miller, Ashli (Hugert), Danielle (Holmes) Nelson, Brittany (Shoolly) Weaver and Angi (Reeves) Story, as well as her boyfriend, PJ Keefer.

PJ said, “Kaitlyn was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She was full of love for everyone and everything. She worked at a school for autistic children, and she was the absolute best at her job. She loved those kids, and they absolutely loved her in return. She clicked with them so well. She knew exactly what to do in every situation she came across. When Kaitlyn met new people, it was like they had an instant connection. They always became instant friends. Kaitlyn was my best friend; we spent as much time as we could together whether that was going to the movies or even just a simple walk. She was always there for me when I needed her. She knew exactly what to say in any situation. She was my rock. I love and miss her dearly.’’

The family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, as well as the doctors and nurses in the emergency room and intensive care unit. They did everything they could to save her. The family requests no flowers, but donations to help with funeral expenses.

The rosary will be said Friday, July 28, 2023 at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, located at 1100 East, 5550 South, South Ogden, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
