Our dear and honest friend, Kara Lynn Cheadle, 67, left her body in spirit and mind peacefully on April 13, 2024 in Layton, Utah. She was born on March 14, 1957 in Hood River, Oregon to Thomas and Shirley Anne Cheadle.
She enjoyed water sports on the Columbia River with friends. Her family owned apple orchards in Dowels City, Oregon. Kara enjoyed active and healthy years as a body builder and came to Utah around 1983. She had an adventurous streak and a love for the outdoors. She attended Weber State University, pursuing a career as a Sheriff and Forest Ranger.
She was a woman known for her honesty and people could always trust her to never tell a lie. She was always cheerful and always took the good, not the bad, from others. Kara felt that all of us should learn something new every day, or you’re just wasting your life away. It is too bad that she passed away from a disease that she had from a bad habit that she’d quit for some time. She had COPD.
Kara is preceded in death by both parents and her brother Tom who just passed in February. She was very close with him. She is survived by her aunt, four cousins and her friend, roommate, and traveling companion Bruce Preston, whom she knew for over 20 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday April 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
As we remember Kara today, let us take a moment to honor her special spirit by reflecting on the ways she touched our lives and the lessons we can learn from her time spent with us. May we find comfort in knowing that she lives on in our hearts and minds.
