Karen June George Butters

Karen June George Butters, 68, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012. She was born on May 13, 1944 to Douglas Cyril and June Miller George in Ogden, Utah. Karen was raised in Ogden, and attended Bonneville High School.

She worked at HAFB and Thiokol and then went to work for McKay Dee Hospital where she retired in 2003.

Karen loved to go shopping and read the paper every morning, especially the comics and obituaries. She collected dolls, enjoyed lunches with friends and most of all spending time with her family.

She will be remembered as a kind, giving and dedicated mother and friend.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Kristy Ann Day, Riverdale; 3 grandchildren, Danon "DJ" VanderStappen, Chet van der Stappen, and Luke Foster of Ogden; 2 great-grandchildren, Afton VanderStappen and Lillian van der Stappen of Ogden; brother, Danny George, Boise, ID and sisters, Nancy (Tom) Driscoll, Roy and Terri (Paul) Wells, South Weber.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Ralph and Raymond George.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Cremation entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary.
