Karen Crase
SOUTH OGDEN – Karen Crase, 64, suddenly passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at her home in South Ogden.
She was born September 16, 1945 in Ogden, the daughter of Dr. Arthur Daniel Gudmundson and Helen Gudmundson.
Karen graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1963. She attended Utah State University and later graduated from Stevens Henager College. She worked several years for Dr. Lamar Rogers. Then she spent several years as a wonderful and loving home mom. She also managed to run a small business from home during this time. Later she moved on to working for the 2nd District Court where she made many friends whom loved her and were inspired by her ambitious, helpful and happy nature. She retired from her services there in October, 2007.
On November 19, 1970, she married her lifelong partner and best friend, Scott Crase. Together they enjoyed taking care of their yard, traveling, golfing, camping at Round Valley, going to their condo in Mesquite, Nevada and spending time on their houseboat at Lake Powell with their children and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her husband and her family.
Surviving are her husband, Scott, of South Ogden; children, Sabra (George) Benford, Perry; Monica (Greg) Satterlee, Washington Terrace; Bryan (Colette) Crase, West Haven; and grandchildren, Justin, Courtney, Aspyn, Makayla, Daxton, and great-grandchild, Aiden; mother, Helen B. Gudmundson of Ogden; brother, A. Leon Gudmundson of South Ogden; and two sisters, Marie Mckee of Layton; Judy Krull of Mesquite, Nevada; mother-in-law, Mickey (Glen) Fox and many nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Arthur Daniel Gudmundson, nephew David Glen Gudmundson, sister-in-law, Georgeann F. Gudmunson, father-in-law, Clarence J. Crase, brother-in-law, A. Dean Mckee, and brother-in-law, Larry G. Krull.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
