Karen Jean Rasmussen
February 2, 1967 ~ May 24, 2022
Karen Jean Rasmussen passed away May 24, 2022, at University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, surrounded by her family.
Karen was born February 2, 1967, to Jean and Deanna (Oswald) Rasmussen. Karen lived in Cache Valley, Pleasant View, and North Ogden. During her youth in Pleasant View, Karen loved attending girl’s camp. She graduated from Weber High School in 1985. She earned her bachelor's degree in business from Park University and was on the dean's list. Karen loved photography and won many awards for her photos. She particularly loved photographing flowers and nature, but her favorite subject was her niece Elyssa.
She started her work career at House of Fabrics. She then performed receptionist duties for Rod Cragun, DDS. She worked at SAIC at Hill Air Force Base until she became disabled.
Karen will be remembered for her humor and fun spirit. She kept that humor and a great attitude throughout her battle with chronic illness. Family members recall that she never missed a special event, and wanted to commemorate with special gifts, even if she could not attend.
Karen is survived by her mother, Deanna; siblings, JDee (Patti), Robert (Joan), and Susie, all from the Ogden area. She was loved by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. For the past 12 years she played an important role as guardian to her niece, Elyssa, to whom she was known as "Dude." She was preceded in death by her father, Jean; sister, Kathy; sister-in-law, Lisa Rasmussen, and niece, Nichole Poulsen. She had a wonderful way of making friends and will be missed by her friends worldwide.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.

Special thanks go to the staff at University of Utah Medical Center for their empathetic care in Karen's final hours.
