KAREN BROWN SALAZAR

1941 – 2021

Karen B. Salazar (Peterson), 79, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on January 19th, 2021 in Clearfield, Utah. She was born June 8th, 1941, in Logan, Utah to Lorna and Louis Peterson. She was youngest of her siblings and grew up in Bountiful, Utah. She lived a life full of love and was the life of every party. She always had a smile on her face and made those around her feel welcomed and important. Karen (KC Baby) worked as a fitness instructor throughout most of her career--often visiting her grandchildren in the nursery to take them on a “bear walk.” She loved music of all sorts--anything from the 50’s-60’s and even today’s rap and rock music. She was good at most everything; and you could often find her camping, bowling, dancing, watching horror movies, and getting into mischief.

She was crowned Miss Bountiful, but she ditched her run for Miss Utah to elope in Las Vegas with Stanton Brown. Anywhere she went she was the center of attention; she was beautiful inside and out!  She was everyone’s cheerleader and could be found at football games, dance recitals, and choir and rock concerts.

She was a firm believer in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in various callings in the Church.  She woke her children up for early morning seminary and taught her kids and grandkids the 13 Articles of Faith. She was the best mom, grandmother, sister and best friend anyone could ever have!

Karen AKA Queen Victoria is survived by her 5 lovely children: Brett (Laura) Brown, Teresa (Guy) Francisco, Vance Brown, Michelle (Steve) Salazar, Kimberly (Gabe) Martel; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; Stanton Brown; Walter Coykendall; Luciano Salazar; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Peterson; brother-in-law, Paul Barlow; and her dog, Tex Salazar (Chiwawa). She was welcomed to heaven by her sister, Maureen Barlow; brother, Eugene Peterson; both her parents; and her doggies: Mopsy 1 (Cocka-peka-poo) and Mopsy 2 (Cocka-poo). O what a reunion it is!

She truly was an angel on earth and will forever be a part of those who knew her.

“Too well loved to be forgotten.”
