Karen Ev Udseth

Karen Ev Udseth KAYSVILLE – Karen Ev Udseth, 73, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013. She was born on May 20, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of Clarence C. and Evelyn V. Rewcastle Groenenstein. Karen married John R. Wier in 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio. They were later divorced. She married Merwin L. Udseth on October 15, 1965 in Minot, North Dakota. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1996. She retired from the Clearfield Job Corps after 25 years of service. Karen had a great love for young people. Karen was an active member of the Kaysville 13th Ward and served in various callings. She loved her children, grandchildren and genealogy. Surviving are her sons, John Udseth, Salt Lake City; Mark Wier, Mesquite, NV; James (Jennifer) Udseth, Salt Lake City; daughters, Lisa Maresh, Streetsboro, OH; Cindy Gillis, Kaysville; Sandra (Marlin) Allery, Dunseith, ND; Sharon Udseth, Kaysville; 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three sisters, Merle Jess, Lynn Schrembre and Dona Wilson. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Merwin, son David Wier, sisters, Gay and Rita. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville 13th Ward, 875 E. 200 No. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
