Karen Weaver

Our beloved, Karen Gale Weaver, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 17, 2014.  She was born on July 31, 1954 in Ogden, Utah, to Clarence and Arlene Gale.  On July 31, 1993 she married the love of her life, David Weaver, her husband and best friend for the past 21 years.

Karen knew better than any the true meaning of “best friend” as she had many and constantly showed it by offering her unbelievably giant heart and caring nature.  She always put herself aside and went out of her way for a friend that was ill or in need.  She could not stand to see anyone sick, suffering or in a bind.

Many would agree that she is one of the most creative and driven people that one may ever meet.  Karen set the pace and bar very high in nearly everything she did.  Having fun and enjoying family and friends came first, without question.  Karen was a very talented cook, master of crafting, gardener, decorator, stylist, caregiver...the list goes on and on.

Karen served proudly as an active member, and later, President, of the Saint Judes Sorority – Layton Chapter.  Her passion and drive for helping others made her a great advocate of such causes and she saw her sorority sisters as family.

We will all miss her presence in so many ways... Her ability to entertain and bring people together, quick wit, humor, smiles, laughter and touch are literally just the tip of the iceberg.

Karen was preceded in death by many close friends and family members.  She is survived by her  husband, David Weaver (& little Scotty Terrier Leo!); son, Zachary C. Hazen; mother, Arlene Gale; sister, Kathy (Gale) Tribble; brother, Kevin Gale and many grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins, all of who she loved dearly.

A celebration of life will be held in Karen’s honor on Tuesday, November 25 th , 2014, from 6-9pm at the 1875 W 5200 S Roy, UT.
