Karl D. Lindley
OGDEN - Karl D. Lindley, a loving husband, father, and grandfather suddenly passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from heart failure. Karl was born September 10, 1946 in Ogden, UT to Esasias Brown Lindley and Ruth McFarland.
Karl lived and believed that every moment of life should be full of purpose. At an early age Karl was taught by his father to love hard work. Those of us who knew Karl can testify that this was his motto and passion in life. He accomplished much because of this belief. In high school Karl loved to run and while running track set a state record in the 440. After graduating from Weber High he married Linda Loraine Clausen, his high school sweetheart, on April 15, 1965. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. After 27 years of marriage Linda passed away. He married Kathy Foley Roane on November 17, 1997.
Karl began his working career at Burton Walker Lumber sweeping floors and quickly earned the confidence of his employer, Ed Burton. He then set his sights on establishing a company of his own. He opened Pioneer Door Sales in 1970, and over the next 28 years he built Pioneer Door into a successful and reputable company. Karl sold Pioneer Door Sales in 1997 after which he continued working in the building industry and was currently employed at Stock Building Supply.
What Karl valued most in life was his relationship with God and his family. He was always willing to give service to anyone in need. He served faithfully in church callings including Bishop of a singles ward and the Stake High Council. In our community he served as President of the Weber County Home Builders Association and on the Board of Directors at the Credit Bureau of Ogden. Karl always put forth his greatest effort in achieving his goals.
Karl enjoyed several hobbies. He loved boating, waterskiing on glassy water, snow skiing in deep powder, traveling with family, exercising and running. He also enjoyed the time he spent building homes and traveling with his wife Kathy.
Surviving are his wife, children: Jeff (Jennifer), Brett, Julie, and Carie Lindley; Devin, C.J., and Ben Roane; 10 grandchildren; three brothers and one sister.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Linda, a son Curtis, a brother Michael, and his mother and father.
