Katherine Marie McClain (Rosander) Perry
Katherine Marie McClain (Rosander) Perry, 89, died quietly of old age with her son and daughter at her side on Sunday evening, November 25, in Bountiful, Utah. She will be remembered for her smiling face and fun disposition as well as her honesty and integrity. Those who love her will miss her dearly.
Katherine was born on June 2, 1918 in Eureka, Utah to Harry Edmund McClain and Marie Teresa Homer. She grew up in this small mining town and attended Tintic High School. After graduation, she attended Henagers Business College in Salt Lake City and enjoyed a career in secretarial, bookkeeping, and managerial work. She was particularly proud of her opportunity to set up and manage Kelly Girls, now known as Kelly Services, when it was first established in Salt Lake City and to be manager of Bountiful Medical Center for many years.
Katherine married Kelsey A. Rosander in 1940 and bore a daughter in 1943. This marriage dissolved early in 1947. Later that year, she married John V. Perry who was her loving partner until his passing in 2001 and father of her second child, a son. In 1955, they moved their little family to Bountiful and remained there until their deaths. In their fifties and sixties, they enjoyed being traveling hosts for Johnson Travel and did volunteer work for the Bountiful Senior Center Meals-on-Wheels program.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Karen M. Rosander; son Victor M. Perri; his wife, Pam, and their children, Kelly and Derrick, and other family members. She was preceeded in death by her husband, John V. Perry; his siblings; her parents; and her brothers, Edmund and Harry McClain. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Catholic Charities.
Funeral services will be held 10 am Friday November 30, 2007 at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 1793 E. Orchard Dr., Bountiful Utah. Friends may call Thursday November 29 from 6-7 pm with prayers at 7 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. Interment Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
