Katherine S. Thurgood

1940-2014

Katherine Springer Thurgood, 73, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014 at her home in Farmington, Utah.

She was born June 1, 1940 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Donald L. and Afton LaFaye Rose Springer.  She was reared and educated in Ogden graduating from Ogden High School.  She married Dennis Russell Thurgood, May 2, 1958.

Katherine enjoyed tole painting, knitting, sewing and all types of crafts. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Her greatest love was Dennis and she especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved and accepted all people.

She is survived by her husband Dennis; son Marlow ‘Marty’ Thurgood (June); daughter Stephanie Elizabeth; son-in-law Steven Smith;  nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother Max Springer (Diane); sisters Laurie Christensen (Robert), Marilyn Barton (Jon), and Charlene Wardle (Ken). Preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Julie Smith; mother and father in-law Russell and Mary Thurgood.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Farmington Oakridge Stake Center, 1988 S. 350 E. Kaysville, Utah.  Friends may visit family Thursday, April 24 ^th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and 9:30-10:30 am at the church prior to services.  Interment  Farmington City Cemetery.
