Kathern Ann Hawks Pace
Our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Kathern Ann Hawks Pace passed away at her home after a four month battle with pancreatic cancer on December 8, 2013. She was born on April 12, 1951 to Marvin R. and LoMay Jean Hawks in Connecticut and grew up in Price and Clearfield, graduating from Carbon High School in 1969.
She married her second grade sweetheart, Eddie L. Pace on November 6, 1971. She worked for Bank of Utah as a bank teller where she met many lifelong friends. She could count money faster than anyone we knew! She was committed to her family and supported her children in dance, sports and music activities, chauffeuring to and from. She made the decision to quit her job in 2002 to stay home and tend her grandkids, which soon became the highlight of her life; it was a rare occasion when she came home from the store without something new for them.
Kathy helped her daughter, Robyn, establish Dancelife Studio in 2006 and became the office manager and ''dance grandma'' to over 100 dancers. She took great pride in watching her grandkids dance. When she was not busy helping others she enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, crafting, ceramics and watching reruns of Everybody Loves Raymond.
She will be missed greatly by her entire family. She is survived by her husband and children Robyn (Clark) VanBuren, Cody (Aubrey) Pace, Eddie (Monica) Pace; eight grandchildren; her sister Carla (Rob) Parks, Charlotte Kearsley and Jaylene (Wendell) Page; sister-in-law Carrol Hoggatt and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece Kari Flint.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Clinton City Cemetery.
