Kathleen Huso

Kathleen Mary Duffin Huso, 68, passed away February 15, 2017 in Layton, Utah.

She was born July 24, 1948 in Seattle, Washington the daughter of Thorvald Earl and Shirley May Paul Duffin.

Kathleen married Richard Orin Huso on February 28, 1969 in Fargo, North Dakota.

As an Army brat, Kathleen lived in various locations such as Virginia, Alaska, and Germany.  Since marriage, she has lived in North Dakota, Texas and Utah.

Kathleen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints collecting monthly reports from the ward’s visiting teachers.

As an Advanced Master Gardener through an extension of Utah State University, her yard was meticulously cared for which was reflected in its natural appearance.  She enjoyed reading in the grape arbor surrounded by the serenity of her efforts.  She was actively preparing for her black belt in Kenpo Karate until her post-polio syndrome struck.  She was rarely more than an arm’s length away from a cat or a grandchild.  Her open-minded creativity led to a 25 year-long project resulting in a map of Narnia tapestry that is proudly on permanent display in the Sacramento Children’s Library, and the miniatures she spent many years on were enjoyed by all who came into the home.

Surviving are her husband Richard, daughter Jennifer Anne Adams, son Jeffrey Alan Huso, eight grandchildren, father Thorvald Earl Duffin, sister, Shirleen May Duffin Howard and brother Thorvald Earl (Lori) Duffin II.

Preceded in death by her mother Shirley May Paul Duffin and grandson Jacob Alma Foster.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Layton Angel Street Chapel, 628 S. Angel Street, Layton.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
