Kathleen “Kathy” Rasmussen NORTH OGDEN – Kathy Ramussen, 46, died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at her home in North Ogden. She was born May 5, 1963 in Salt Lake City, to Jean and Deanna Lee Oswald Rasmussen. She grew up in the Logan area as well as Pleasant View. Kathy married Sal Ortega in San Diego, California. They were later divorced. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kathy graduated from Weber High School in 1981; from B.Y.U. with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1984 and with a Master’s Degree in 1986 in Science and Zoology. She then attended the University of California at San Diego for her PhD in 1986 in Biomedical Sciences, graduating in 1991. She worked as a pharmacology researcher for Proctor and Gamble. Following her education, Kathy lived in St. Louis, Missouri and Cincinnati, Ohio before returning home to North Ogden, Utah where she raised her little girl, Elyssa, whom she loved more than life itself. She was taken too soon and was love by her family and many close friends. Surviving are her parents, her precious daughter, Elyssa, brothers, J. Dee (Patti) and Robert (Lisa, deceased), sisters, Susan and Karen, all of the North Ogden area. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
