KATHLEEN FAWSON PEARCE SAVAGE

Kathleen Fawson Pearce Savage age 64 died at McKay-Dee Hospital, Ogden, Utah, Sunday, January 26, 2014 of lung cancer. She was born March 17, 1949 in St. George, Utah to Merrill Pehrson Fawson and Hazel May Hall the last of four siblings Norman, Marilyn, Margaret and Elaine. She was raised in St. George, graduated from Dixie High School in 1967, Dixie College in 1969 and from BYU in 1971 with a teacher’s Bachelor of Science degree.

She served an LDS Mission to Australia South from 1971-73. She was married and sealed to Lewis Craig Pearce November 24, 1973 in the St. George Temple and had 3 children by him: Alma (stillborn), Mark and John. Craig died March 31, 1980. She married Bruce Gerald Savage (a widower with 5 young children) Angela, Natalie, Levi, Benjamin and Timothy on November 22, 1980 in the Provo Temple (time only). She had 6 more children by Bruce: Heidi, Ruthann, Valerie, Daniel, Matthew and Jared. She and Bruce divorced in 2002. Her life was full of service, always putting the needs of others before her own.  She was an excellent mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, seamstress, musician, cook, teacher and planner of family activities. The Lord and family always came first. She was survived by 13 children, 23 grandchildren, three great-grandsons and four siblings. S he was preceded in death by her parents, husband Craig and son Alma.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the LDS Kays Creek Stake Center, 2680 E. Cherry Lane, Layton, UT.  Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the stake center.   Interment will be in the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 S. 200 W., next to her first  husband Craig.
