Kathleen “Kathy” (Eppich) Latturner
June 1, 1947 ~ May 24, 2017
Kathleen “Kathy” (Eppich) Latturner, 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was born in Ogden, Utah, to Eslie and Marilyn (Coleman) Eppich. She was the only sister to brothers, Stephen and Daniel. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1965 and lived in the Ogden area her whole life.
Kathy married David P. Mangel out of high school in 1965, and they had four children: Wendi, Penny, Troy, and Todd, before divorcing in 1980. Kathy then married her greatest champion and supporter, Bud J. Latturner, on February 8, 1984, and together they raised seven fantastic children.
Kathy worked various positions at Hill Air Force Base for 33 years until she retired in January 2005. She and Bud lived like newlyweds for the rest of her life: RVing across the country, traveling abroad, going on cruises, eating out, and making wonderful memories together.
Kathy loved roller coasters and amusements parks, reading (especially thrillers), watching movies, camping, traveling, visiting historical sites and museums, reading the obituaries, and exploring cemeteries. Kathy especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Kathy is survived by her best friend and devoted husband, Bud J. Latturner; sons, Troy (Janice) Mangel, Todd (Nelli) Mangel, and Brian (Penny) Latturner; and daughters, Wendi Martin, Penny (Jed) Dubach, Shana Latturner, and Tracy (Mark) Latturner. She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her mother, Marilyn Eppich; her brother, Daniel (Deanne) Eppich; and many loving family members and friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Eslie Eppich; her oldest brother, Stephen (Michael) Eppich; her daughter-in-law, Karrie (Brian) “Wilson” Latturner; and her granddaughter, Angelyn Dubach.
Kathy was an incredible woman. She lit up rooms and hearts with her bright blue eyes and beautiful smile. She always saw the good in everything, and loved unconditionally. She lived life fully and was the sunshine wherever she went. She was and is a loving mother, wife, and friend, and a treasure to all who had the great pleasure of knowing her.
