Kathryn Staley Lockett

Kathryn Staley Lockett, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. She was born on July 3, 1924 in Coalville, Utah to Jared and Nettie Gale Staley. She started first grade in a one room school house in Grass Creek, Utah. She finished grade school in Grass Creek and Coalville, Utah. She graduated from North Summit High School and Steven-Henagar Business College.

She worked at Hill Air Force Base, American Oil, Prudential Savings and Loan, and was Supervisor of Data Processing for the Utah State Tax Commission.

Kathryn married Gene Vickrey, Sr. They were later divorced. She married Richard A. Lockett on June 30, 1945 in Elko, Nevada. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1994.

She was active in Eastern Star Lynds and Queen Esther Chapters, OES.

Kathryn is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Dee Lockett (Tony) Thurber; son, Gene (Rita) Vickrey, Jr.; stepdaughter, Donna Diane (Alan) Weiskind; grandchildren, Carrie Morley and Troy J. Vickrey; great-grandchildren, Drake, Connor, Brace, Auna and Garrett; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Lewis G. Staley; beloved niece, Marianne Hunter and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, parents, infant twin brothers and sister, Mary Hunter.

Cremation entrusted to Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary.

The family extends their deep gratitude to Marianne Hunter and her family for the care they provided during Kathryn''s illness.
