Kathryn (Kaye) Lindstrom Ney

"I never dreamed I''d live to be this old."
Kaye passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the age of 88 of causes incident to age. She was born in Pleasant Grove, Utah, the second of six children, to Florence Smith Lindstrom and Berthel Hyrum Lindstrom. She was reared and educated in the mining town of Mammoth, Tintic Mining District and graduated from Tintic High School in 1941. During WWII she worked at the Remington Arms Plant in Salt Lake City and for Bell Telephone Co. during and after the war in Salt Lake, Los Angeles, and Provo.
On January 24, 1945 she married Russell LaMar Ney in Pleasant Grove, Utah. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden Temple. For the first twenty years of married life she was a military wife, living in seven states and one foreign country. She enjoyed meeting new people and living in new places. She served as the NCO Military Wives Club president for two terms. When her husband retired from the Air Force they moved to Clearfield, living in their home for 42 years. She retired from JC Penney Company after 20 years as office manager in 1985. She was a member of Senior Friends, Davis Hospital and served as president for two years. She was a volunteer at the hospital visiting patients and taking flowers to the members of Senior Friends. Her last years were spent at Chancellor Gardens. We thank those who lovingly cared for her.
Mom did beautiful embroidery work and made table cloths for her children and all of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, she loved to travel and she loved fresh flowers. Most importantly, she was a loving and kind person and a committed and dedicated mother. We will miss her sweet smile and her laughter.
Kaye was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Clearfield 1st Ward and the Chancellor Branch. She served in the Sunday School and Relief Society. She loved the gospel and her Savior.
Kaye is survived by her three children, Jay Russell (Wanda) Ney of Riverdale; Paula (Grant) Johnson of Clearfield; and Marsha (Gordon) Christiansen, Orem, Utah; 17 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren. She has a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter named after her. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sisters, Ruth Lindstrom Tolich and Ida Mae Lindstrom Crofts; her brothers, Bert, Paul, and Charles (Charlie) Lindstrom.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Clearfield North Stake Center, 151 No. 1000 W. Friends may visit family on Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
