Kathryn Parkinson
Our loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away in her sleep early Sunday morning, July 1, 2012 surrounded by her family.
Kathryn was born March 22, 1935 in Coalville, Utah to Sydney Sharp and Eliza Catherine Thomas Smith. She was the sixth of seven children.
She married Thomas Clair Parkinson on August 25, 1951 in Ogden, Utah and their marriage was later solemnized for time and all eternity in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Kathryn and Thomas have three children: Toni Kaye Claxton, Ogden; Steven Thomas (Valerie) Parkinson, St. George; John Clair Parkinson, Layton; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, with more on the way.
She lived in Roy for over 50 years and was an active member of the Roy 1st and 14th Wards; where she served as the Relief Society President, a temple worker and also served a mission alongside her husband in Little Rock, Arkansas. She spent the last five years as a member of the Clinton 10th Ward.
Kathryn was a very special and loving person who always made her home welcome to family, friends, and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister and son-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
Kathryn''s family would like to thank the Burch Creek Home Hospice for their wonderful care and loving support in our time of need. Many thanks also go out to Dr. Alan Abdulla for many years of loving care.
