Kathryn Elizabeth Pippin

“Together Again”

Kathryn Elizabeth Pippin, 75, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014.  She was born on March 19, 1939 in Owasso, Michigan, to Merwin Earl and Ethel Francis Ellis Wilson.  The family moved to California when Kathy was 9 years old.

She married Raymond Eugene Pippin on August 8, 1958 in Pomona, CA.  They joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1962 and were sealed in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on July 10, 1963.  Kathy enjoyed serving as a Chorister, Relief Society Secretary, and Visiting Teacher Supervisor.

She worked for Pomona Electric and Ogden ATC as a switch board operator.  She also worked for Brigham City Court House in the Assessor’s Office.

Kathy loved music and sang with the Melodears from Brigham City.  She enjoyed gardening and loved to laugh.  She loved being around babies and young children and was a foster mom to several babies.   Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  Her favorite saying was “wait until your father gets home” as she was not a disciplinarian.

Kathy is survived by her children, Janet (Mike) Vause, Pleasant View; Jeff (Deby) Pippin, Willard; Ron (Sandy) Pippin, Roy; 26 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and sister, Marilyn Burt, San Marcos, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Pippin.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Monday from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd.

Thanks to Dr. Lewis, the nurses, and staff at Manor Care for their loving care of mom.
