Kathryn P. Voigt
LAYTON a" Kathryn P. Voigt, 91, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. She was born February 9, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Marchel and Esther Prather. She graduated from West High School in 1937.
She married Robert W. Voigt Jr. on September 9, 1942. They just celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in June 1964. She retired from Internal Revenue with many years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jack, sisters Bernice and Eloise and her son Reid Duane.
Kay had a great love for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cooking. She loved having her family around her.
Kay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, sons, Robert W. Voigt III (Diane), Albert E. Voigt and daughter, Vickie Lynn Draper, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
