Kathy Ila Brown

Kathy Ila Peterson Brown, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed from this life unexpectedly on May 25, 2012.

Kathy was a beautiful woman inside and out. She was born into a loving family of five sisters and one brother in Santa Monica, California on March 14, 1958. She often spoke of her wonderful childhood memories and of all the laughter that resonated from her home. Kathy served diligently in many capacities as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; most recently as a temple worker, which she delighted in. Kathy had a strong sense of right and wrong that led her to make important decisions in her life.

The best decision she made was to marry her sweetheart Glen W. Brown on December 18, 1976 in the Los Angeles Temple. Glen has been her loyal companion and the love of her life. Kathy treasured her family above all else. She nurtured her four children with love and compassion and her greatest joy came from her eight grandchildren. Kathy was a wonderful friend who shared her joys and also her pain through long walks and talks. She shared with her friends, as well as any person she encountered, her beautiful smile and her tender words. Kathy had a talent with the written word and has authored volumes of journals as well as her own book of poetry. She loved to dance with her husband, cross stitch, sing, watch old movies, and was a voracious reader. Kathy was not ashamed to share her testimony of Jesus Christ and of her great love for her Heavenly Father.

Kathy is survived by her husband Glen W. Brown and their four children: daughter Kristie (Chad), sons Dean (Erica), John (fiancAC.e Rachel), Paul (Stephanie); and her grandchildren Hannah, Isabelle, Charlotte, Ava, McKaydin, Aidan, Mason and Easton; and her mother Lucille Peterson.

She is preceded in death by her dear father, Dean B. Peterson and her father-in-law, John C. Brown.
