Kathy L. Duran
On Tuesday, November 5, 2013 our beloved wife and mother returned to her Heavenly Father surrounded by her devoted husband, Glenn and their three remarkable sons, Joel, Cody and Taylor. Kathy was born, July 27, 1964 in Ogden to Dennis Young and Linda Snyder. It was love at first sight when Kathy and Glenn first met in Jr. High. On May 4, 1985 Kathy married Glenn, her best friend, at Saint Rose of Lima in Layton. They chose to make West Point their home, where life was simple. Kathy cherished watching her three young boys grow up to the fine young men they are today. Kathy loved being with her family, cruising, camping, car rides, and summer trips to San Diego. One of Kathy’s most cherished memories was attending Mass at Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, within Rome, Italy. Kathy made the most extraordinary quilts, many of which she donated to charity. Although Kathy battled brain cancer for 17 years and leukemia for 2 years, she never let that define her as a person. Kathy always kept her faith, hope and joy in living life to the absolute fullest.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Glenn; adoring children Joel (Vanna) Duran, Cody (Floribel) Duran, and Taylor (Van) Duran; her parents Dennis (Linda) Young, Linda (Mike) McCowen; brothers Denny (Corby) Young, Ronnie Young; sister Rocheal (Terry) Redford.
Kathy is preceded in death by her grandparents and her loyal companions; Major, Ginger and Baylee.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 South Chapel Street, Layton, Utah.
