Kathy Lynn Holley
October 24, 1947 ~ March 30, 2017
Kathy Lynn Holley, 69, returned to her Father in Heaven on March 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Her smile, spirit, and beautiful blue eyes will be forever missed.
Kathy was born on October 24, 1947 in Lynwood, California, the first child born to Fredrick Webb and Martha Venice (Allen) Holley. Kathy was proud growing up in California with an older sister, a younger brother, and three younger sisters. She was and will forever be a California girl. She attended Paramount High School, Bryman Institute, and UC Santa Barbara Extension. She worked as a legal secretary and paralegal for more than 25 years.
She enjoyed playing the piano, painting, sewing, and knitting. Kathy loved horseback riding on the beach when she was a kid, but most of all loved to swim in the ocean. She loved the beach -- any beach! She had a great love for Hawaii. With great excitement, she took each one of her kids to Hawaii, as well as, many of her grandchildren. A couple of years ago she was able to visit the Islands, one last time, with her three sisters, “The Sister’s Trip!”
Kathy was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many church callings, which she was dedicated to the fullest. Her love for her Savior and willingness to serve whoever or whenever with a smile on her face and an outpouring of love in her heart, will forever be remembered.
She was married in April of 1967 to John W. Wisner and later divorced. Although she had her three children in California, which she was extremely proud of, they moved to Tucson, Arizona and then to Sandy, Utah where she resided for more than 35 years and then to Brigham City, Utah a few years ago.
Kathy is the mother to Lisa L. Wisner, John A. Wisner (Kara), and Jennifer L. Gates (Matthew); five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, “the sparkle in her eyes”, Aaron J. Strickland, Chevia H. Nelson (Danny), Miklynn M. Hansen (Kade), Hunter D. Strickland, Katie M. Strickland; and Paytin, Eloise, Dixie, Gehrig and Tawnie. She is a loving sister to her brother, Fredrick C. Holley (Mary); and sisters, Cynthia L. Brannen (Charles), Karon S. Doherty, and Sharon L. Bouslaugh (Dennis); and many nieces and nephews that she adored and loved with her whole heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joanna J. Maus; brother-in-law, John Doherty; niece, Michelle "Mickey" Irene; and beloved German Shepherds - Prince and Misty.
Kathy had many lifelong friends and continued to make new friends wherever she went. She was a collector of friends that she loved dearly.
