Katie Hall Chavez

February 4, 1982 ~ June 18, 2016

Katie was born February 4, 1982 in Ogden, Utah to Jed and Michelle Hall. She unexpectedly passed away at the age of 34 in the early morning hours of June 18, 2016.

Katie was a graduate of Morgan High School and the Certified Nursing Assistant program at the Davis Applied Technology Center. Her working career was spent providing love, care, and service to her elderly patients, who always held a special place in her heart.

In September of 2007, Katie married Alvaro Chavez, who helped her raise her greatest accomplishments Jakob and Jaxon—her sons, who gave her life true meaning and purpose. Katie was a wonderful mom who was very proud of her boys.

Katie enjoyed reading books, particularly the spicy romance variety! She loved sewing, canning, cooking (her chicken enchiladas were the best), and making all types of crafts. She especially enjoyed going out for sushi, visiting the family ranch, fishing, and playing card or board games with loved ones. She could easily brighten anyone’s mood or lift anyone’s spirit with her infectious laughter and smile. Katie was a practicing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and openly encouraged her family to share in her faith.

Katie is survived by her parents, Jed and Michelle Hall of Morgan, Utah; her husband, Alvaro Chavez of Ogden, Utah; her sons, Jakob Hall and Jaxon Chavez of Ogden, Utah; her brother, Morgan Hall of Clearfield, Utah; her sisters, Frances (Kody) Lee of Morgan, Utah, Annette (Chris) Hudson of Manteca, California; very special in-laws Emeterio (Toni) Chavez of Ogden, Utah; and many more loving and caring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.   Katie was preceded in death by her grandparents, David and Trevelene Hall of Vernal, Utah; Grant and Beverly Francis, of Morgan, Utah; and Cousin Jaime Green, of Ogden, Utah.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 11a.m. at the Morgan Utah LDS Stake Center , 355 N 700 E. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Katie will then be laid to rest immediately after the funeral services in the South Morgan Cemetery, 335 S State Street.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to a GoFundMe account set up to help pay for funeral service expenses.  Use the following link to make a donation: Remembering Katie https://www.gofundme.com/2a78fbac .
