Kay Knight Robinson
Our beautiful mom peacefully passed away surrounded by her daughters on Friday, February 19, 2016 into the arms of our Heavenly Father and waiting loved ones. Kay Knight Robinson was born January 27, 1944 in Ogden, the long awaited daughter of Joe and Flora Knight. Grandpa always said when he laid eyes on her she was the most beautiful baby he’d ever seen.
She grew up in Clearfield and graduated from Davis High School in 1962. She married Tom Winegar and they were blessed with five daughters. They were later divorced. She then met an amazing man, Charles Leon Robinson. They were married on August 8, 1980. That blending included Charlie’s daughters, Brooke and Kim. Mom and Charlie were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. They shared much love, laughter and a whole lot of fun.
Our mom dedicated her life to Charlie, her daughters and their families. She was happiest spending time with them. Our home was filled with the most delicious home cooked meals, Barbara Streisand, Elvis, dance parties, BBQ’s and the biggest water fights you’ve ever seen. Charlie passed away on July 8, 1996. Mom’s example of love and service to him during his long illness will never be forgotten.
Mom worked at Hill Air Force Base for many years. She loved to dance and it didn’t matter the music; country, square, ballroom or disco, our mom had all the moves. She also enjoyed pinochle, bowling, camping and travel. However, her biggest love was a cool 44 oz. fountain Diet Coke.
Mom reminded us her entire life to be a friend to everyone. She loved her retirement living at Fairfield Village in Layton. She knew and loved all her neighbors and staff and never forgot a name.
She is survived by her five daughters, Patricia (Jeff) Weyburn, Kimberli (Dan) Nuttall, Jennifer (Alan) Ence, Melissa (Chad) Pettingill, Ashlee (Wade) Dorius and 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with two more expected this year. She is also survived by her loving big brother, Jerry Knight and one sweet niece Tracy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great-grandson, Easton Carl Lloyd.
The family would like to thank Tiersa and Whitney of Envision Hospice for helping us these past few months as we have cared for our mom.
