Kay VanMeeteren Wright
December 4, 1942 ~ January 3, 2018

On January 3, 2018, Kay VanMeeteren Wright, our loving mother, grandmother and friend, was called home to her Father in Heaven. Kay was born on December 4, 1942 to Carl and Elva VanMeeteren in South Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Weber High School in 1960 and attended Stevens Henager College.

Kay was a member of the LDS Church and participated in many callings with the Primary, Cub Scouts and Relief Society organizations.  On Sept 2, 1960 she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Robert Angus Wright, in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Kay and her family lived in several places including Ogden, Tremonton, South Ogden, and most recently Uintah Highlands.

She worked at Morton Thiokol and the IRS, retiring in 2005.  While also raising her own children she ran an in-home daycare center.  She enjoyed many activities including: crafting, quilting, camping, canning, tole painting, shopping, and spoiling her grandkids and great-grandkids.  She loved spending time with her family and teasing them all.

Kay is survived by her children, Kristie K. (Larry) Bitton, Henderson, NV; Scott A. (MariAnn), Ogden; Pamela K. (Greg) Seegmiller, Roy; Timothy T. (Mercy), San Diego, CA; and Amy L. (Cory) King, Plain City; brother, Ted VanMeeteren, South Ogden; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family expresses appreciation to CNS Hospice, Dr. Moulton and Nurse Lea and the many CNA’s that cared for her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
