Kaye Hansen passed away on Friday, January 24, at the age of 76.
Kaye was born in Reno, Nevada on October 28, 1937 to LaDell Mervin Larson and Norma Dorothy Crockett. She was the second of five daughters. As a child she lived in Gardnerville and Elko, Nevada; Logan, Utah; Hagerman, Idaho and lastly in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Kaye graduated from Utah State University in Logan, Utah, with a degree in Elementary Education and Child Development. She was affiliated with Chi Omega Sorority. She married Kenneth Glen Hansen in the Logan Temple, on April 17, 1958. She taught elementary school in Bountiful and Salt Lake City. Kaye served a mission with Ken in the New York South Mission and at Welfare Square working with the Family Support Services Program. Kaye willingly served in many church callings throughout her life. She sang in numerous singing groups, enjoyed Country-Western music and singing with her guitar, gardening, painting, reading, riding her Arabian horse during her high school years and traveling.
Kaye and Ken have lived in Salt Lake and in Bountiful since 1965.
Kaye was preceded in death by her father LaDell Larson and her mother Norma Crockett, and sister, Carole Barton (Dick), Twin Falls, Idaho, and stepfather, Evera Junior “EJ” Morgan. She is survived by her husband, Ken and five children; Wendy Kay Gunderson (John) Temecula, California, Bradley Glen Hansen (Marcie) North Salt Lake, Linda Sue Gee (Michael) Bountiful, Paul Kenneth Hansen, (Kimberly) Kaysville and Mark LaDell Hansen (Leslie) Bountiful. Kaye and Ken have twenty three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Pat Wursten (Leon), Logan, Utah, DeAnna Durham (Frank), Twin Falls, Idaho, Janice Crandall (Ted), Pocatello, Idaho.
EJ married Kaye's mother, Norma Crockett Larson, on April 1, 1965, which added three brothers and four sisters into her family. All of whom survive her, Curtis Morgan (Kathleen) of Draper, Utah, Stephen Morgan (Candace) of Cave Creek, Ariz., Paul Morgan (Carol) of Twin Falls, Idaho, Marianne Belliston (Don) of Bountiful, Utah, Krista Kelsey (Allen) of Twin Falls, Idaho, Ellen Lee (Bill, deceased) of Fairview, Utah, and Zora Christensen (Brent) of Fort Collins, Colo.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the North Canyon 3rd Ward chapel, 2505 S. Davis Blvd., Bountiful. Friends may visit family Friday, January 31st, from 6 -8 pm at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 N. and 9:30–10:30 am at the church prior to services. Interment Logan City Cemetery, Logan, Utah.
Donations to the LDS Missionary Fund are requested in lieu of flowers.
