KAYSVILLE – Kazue Matsui Haag passed away on February 1, 2013 at Davis Hospital. She was born on May 5, 1940 in Kofu, Japan to Jiro and Fujiko Matsui.
Kazue married Richard O. Haag in the Salt Lake Temple on June 5, 1970 and together they were parents of three children: daughter Emily and two sons, Rick and Chris.
The center of Kazue’s life was her family, both in Japan and in the United States. She was a pioneer in joining the LDS church and was instrumental spreading the gospel in Japan, including serving in the Northern Far East Mission in 1964 - 1966. She then met her husband at BYU and forged a life here in the U.S. She was a translator/interpreter for the LDS church for 46 years.
She is survived by her husband, children, brother Takefumi Matsui of Tokyo, Japan and Sister Kikue (Leon) Jensen of Orem. Preceded in death by her parents.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday February 6, 2013 at the Kaysville City Cemetery. Flowers can be sent to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd.
