Kefford Leon Jones (86) finished his last ride, March 8, 2013. True to form, he endured way beyond the eight second buzzer. He was born to Gladys and Emery Jones, in Morgan, Utah, June 12, 1926 and spent his childhood riding among the Witch Rocks of Echo. He was a member of the LDS Church. He served in Unit 311 Infantry, 78th Division of the military during World War II. He worked for the Federal Government in various positions for 34 years.
Keff loved hunting, fishing, rodeos, and all of the beauty the outdoors had to offer. He was known for his large and beautiful garden, which he shared with many. He especially enjoyed lapidary work, creating beautiful jewelry to bestow upon many of those he loved.
He is survived by his 3 siblings; Darrel (JoAnn) Jones, Elva (Carl) Wisenberg and Sandra (Larry) Leonard; his children, Vern (Dorothy) Jones, Diane (Robert) Lyon, Linda (Kerry) Wilson, Julie (Tom) Jones; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his grandson; Bradly Jones, his father and mother, his first wife and mother of his children; Vennes Vee Iverson Jones, his second wife; Edna Patterson Nielsen and lastly, his loving companion, Helen Jones. The family wishes to express gratitude to all therapists, doctors, nurses and caregivers from Harmony Home Health who tried to help him get back in the saddle. Also the family gives our many thanks to his dear friend and home teacher, Carl Biehn.
Memorial Services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the North Canyon 2nd Ward, 3350 S. 100 E. Bountiful, Utah. The family will meet with friends and loved ones 1 hour prior to the services at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary.
