Keith Albert Anderson

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Keith A. Anderson, died peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
He was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He touched many lives through his selfless service. He was a compassionate leader, a trusted counselor, teacher and educator, as well as an inspiring public speaker. All who knew him were blessed by his deep wisdom and gracious example.
Keith was born January 18, 1937 in Ogden, Utah the youngest of six children. He was raised in Taylor, Utah by his loving parents, Joseph and Katherine Anderson. He attended schools in Weber County and graduated from Weber High School in 1956. After high school, he served a mission in the Stockholm Sweden Mission from 1957 to 1960.
On November 30, 1961, Keith married Janice Stratford in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Taylor, Utah where they raised four children; three daughters and one son.
He attended Weber State College and received a Master’s Degree in Education from Utah State University. He taught in the Weber County School District for 35 years.
Keith served in the US Army.
He served faithfully in many church callings, including High Counselor, Bishop, Stake Presidency, first Mission President of the Washington Kennewick Mission, sealer in the Ogden Utah Temple and stake patriarch. He also served two full time missions with his wife Janice, in the Stockholm Sweden and Washington Kennewick missions.
Keith had a great love for the outdoors, fishing, hunting and growing produce for market. His greatest loves were his family, Church, and working in his fields growing vegetables.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Deanna Anderson, Nampa, ID; Nancy and Larry McFarland, West Weber; Brian and Tifnee Anderson, Plain City and Park Valley; Jennilyn and Paul Ferry, Henefer; 18 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. Two granddaughters, Oaklee Anderson and Cami Barthlome are currently serving missions. He is also survived by his brother, Vernal Anderson and sister, Bertha Kartchner. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Irvin and Hyalmar and sister, Louise Wise.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Ogden Utah West Stake Center, 2200 South 4300 West, Taylor. The family will meet with friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
