Keith C. Smith, our beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and veteran, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024, at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family.
Keith was born in Woods Cross, UT on May 10, 1931 to Manasseh William Smith and Afton Eileen Cleverly. His father passed away when he was two years old and his mother was left to raise him and his two brothers. Shortly after his father’s passing the family moved to Farmington, UT where Keith was raised.
Keith attended Farmington Elementary, South Davis Jr. High, and graduated from Davis High School. As a teenager Keith worked at Miller Floral in Farmington and later served in the Korean War as a member of the Air Force. After his service in the Air Force, Keith worked in the floor covering business and later finished his working career as an armament specialist at Hill Air Force Base.
Keith’s hobbies included listening to classical music, watching college football as a University of Utah fan, following politics, fishing, and most of all waterfowl hunting at the New State Duck Club with his brother Bill and other relatives. Some of his other memorable hunting adventures included a Southern Utah antelope hunt and a pheasant hunt in Kansas. Keith was also a lifelong member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited. Keith loved to take his family out to dinner at his favorite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse and Granny Annie’s.
Keith loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, often bragging about them to those that he met. He is survived by his three daughters, Alicia (Tim), Mindy (Ray), and Carrie (Kenton). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his two brothers, Dean and Bill.
