Keith Robert Gomm
Our dear father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and friend, Keith Robert Gomm, passed away at his home on July 12, 2008. He was born in Smoot, Wyoming on September 14, 1917 to Thomas Gomm and Anna Lucinda Moffett. Keith graduated from Davis High School in 1935. He married his childhood sweetheart Ruth Burnett on June 4, 1937 in the Salt Lake Temple. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary last year and Ruth passed away shortly thereafter.
Keith and Ruth spent their married lives in Utah and California. In 1948 he established the first theatre in Roy, Utah. In 1950 Keith and Ruth moved to California where he worked for the Federal Government. After retiring, they returned to Utah where they established Gomm Tax Service which became a third career that lasted 32 years and brought them many treasured friendships. Keith was active in the LDS Church and held many positions including an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple.
His interests included fishing, traveling and sports. He loved spending time with his family.
Keith is survived by his three sons and their spouses, Gary (Lynne), San Antonio, Texas; Richard (Ann), Henderson, Nevada; and Michael (Pamela), West Point, Utah; 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, his brother Earl and sisters Phyllis and Bona Jean.
He was preceded in death by his dear wife, his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Tuesday, July 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
