Keith Mitchell Halterman

April 22, 1936 ~ December 18, 2019

Keith was born on April 22, 1936, in Cedar City, Utah, to George Lynn and Mildred Mitchell Halterman and passed away on December 18, 2019.

Keith served in the Army from 1958 to 1964. He was stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco, California where he met his bride, Jacqueline (Jackie) Stahlnecker in 1959.  They were married on April 2, 1960, and later sealed in the Oakland, California Temple on June 22, 1968.

Keith attended Parowan high school, and was later drafted into the Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was out celebrating the fact that he was not being sent to Korea the night he met Jackie at the Honey Bucket in San Francisco.

Keith was known as a warm, loving man, who would do anything for his family, and would gladly give the shirt off his back if someone needed it.  He had a great sense of humor and an easy-going attitude about life.  Nothing was more important to him than God and his family.

Keith and Jackie raised their four children in San Jose, California.  Keith made a living as a type-setter at the San Jose Mercury News, until they both retired and moved to Utah.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; sisters, Patricia Corey (Roger), Sharon Mowrey (Roger), and Nanette Pond (Noel); children Keith Lynn (Nancy), John, Margaret Hansen (Geoff), and David (Raquel); 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert (Nancy), and son-in-law, Geoff Hansen.

He is buried near many of his family and ancestors in the Parowan, Utah Cemetery.

Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah.
