LAYTON - Keith Hanney died Thursday, March 12, 2009 from a Glioblastoma brain tumor. I am sorry to say that I am no longer a cancer survivor. I was blessed to live longer than expected and for that I am grateful. I was glad I was given extra time to be with my loved ones, which I will miss very much.

I was born on July 6, 1953 the youngest child of Chris and Mabel Jaques Hanney in Ogden, Utah. I grew up in Layton and graduated from Layton High School in 1971. I married Cathy Lebo in 1972. We were later divorced. I married Terrie (Red) Daily in 1990 after living with her for seven years. She brought a son and a daughter into the marriage.

I lived my life my way. I have been known to drink, smoke and cuss, occasionally ride hoses, swim, ski and canoe. I retired from Layton City Parks.

I am survived by my wife Red, two sons Matt (Tami) Hanney, Kodey Rice and daughter Britney Rice and three wonderful grandchildren, Andrew Thomas Hanney, Konnor Keith Hoskins and Kyla Renee Jacobson, three brothers Dean, Blaine and Laren and three sisters Nola Jean, Emma Lou and Linda.

I was preceded in death by my father Chris, my mother Mabel and my oldest sister Faye.

I was lucky to have you all in my life, but you were luckier to have me in yours. Life is too short.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Cremation to follow.

We would like to especially thank Dr. Gary Whipple for all of his love and support!
