Keith Frederick Steindorf
Keith Frederick Steindorf, 76, passed away on January 16, 2018 in Clinton, Utah after battling the effects of Parkinson’s disease.
Keith was born on April 26, 1941 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to John and Eugena Steindorf. Keith was the first son to join the family, following his sisters Sandra and Joyce, then his younger brother Rick. Keith spent his youth in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota and graduated from Sauk Rapids High School in 1959. Keith joined the Navy at 18 and was stationed in San Diego, California spending four years as a radio man. He married Aida Herrera in Santa Ana, California and they had two sons, John Craig and Donald Curtis. They were later divorced.
Keith began his professional career working for TRW in California. The company transferred him to Ogden, Utah where he met Kathy Griffiths Olson and they were married in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1985. Keith continued to work for TRW for 31 years, retiring in 1998.
Keith had a great love for nature and was a true cowboy. He was always happiest fishing, hunting, or riding his horse. He was a natural at picking up most sports including skiing, tennis and he threw a mean Frisbee. Keith had a talent for wood working and made many pieces of furniture with precision and skill.
Surviving are his wife Kathy, his son Craig (Christy) Steindorf, Spring, Texas; stepdaughters Lisa (Brett) Swain, Las Vegas, Nevada; Jerlynne (Brian) Nuttall, South Jordan, Utah; Allyson (Troy) McQuivey, St. George, Utah; Anne Marie Olson, Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren: Trenton, Chloe, Logan, Taylor, Taven, Avery, Trevor, Devyn, Austin, Caitlin, Jaedon, Mattie, Zane, and Zeke. He is also survived by his siblings Sandy (John) Kuark, Joyce Blomquist, and Rick (Carrie) Steindorf. Keith was preceded in death by his son Curtis Steindorf; parents, John and Eugena Steindorf; and brother-in-law, Charles Blomquist.
The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Village and Barrington Place for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
