Kenneth Waddoups Earl passed peacefully surrounded by his family on May 23, 2012, due to complications from a stroke.

Kenneth (Ken) was born in Bountiful, Utah on February 1, 1926 to Charles Ellis and Irene Waddoups Earl. He was one of five children and grew up in Bountiful. He served his county honorably during WWII in the U.S. Navy from June 9, 1943 to February 18, 1946. He served as a Torpedo Man Striker on the submarine USS Sailfish. He graduated from Davis High School after returning home from the service. He married Alta Stoddard on May 28, 1947 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they shared 65 years and had three children.

Ken was a committed husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. He was a self employed painting contractor in Davis County. He was meticulous and unique in his craft. He had an incredible work ethic that he taught and passed on to his family. His favorite advice to his children was always "REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE". He enjoyed building the family cabin at Flaming Gorge, boating at Lake Powell, traveling, cruising, playing golf and spending time with family and friends. Ken and Alta relocated to St. George and enjoyed several years playing golf at Bloomington Country Club and the sunshine. He was a life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.

Ken is survived by his wife, Alta Earl, his three children and their spouses, Richard Kenneth Earl (Karen), Kathy Morris (Ron) and Roger David Earl (Colleen), 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, his brother, T. Garry Earl (Barbara) and sister-in-law, Joyce Earl. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Jay Earl and sisters Jean Earl Keddington and LaRae Earl Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 29th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, Utah. Friends and family may gather Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the services. Interment at the West Point City Cemetery, 40 N. 4000 W. West Point, Utah.
